Funds for Human Services
HHHS oversees the City of Bainbridge Island’s process
for allocating City funding to Bainbridge Island human service
agencies.
Each year, HHHS:
- Thoroughly reviews applications from qualified non-profit
human service agencies for merit and need.
- Evaluates project proposals to ensure that recognized
needs are met as efficiently as possible.
- Acts as an advocate for human services providers.
- Administers the contracts and allocates the available
funds on behalf of the City.
As the agency responsible for the "big picture"
of all aspects of our community that relate to human services,
HHHS is using the information gathered through the Needs Assessment,
along with information collected by service providers, to
identify any gaps in our service delivery system.
This "gap analysis" will help us to work with service
providers to design programs that address any unmet needs.
This will also help in allocating public funding in years
to come.
