2007-2008 Healthy Community Checkup
Our Healthy Community Checkup Project is the periodic update of our Needs Assessment. We are updating our original survey of Human Service Needs, we are updating and developing a Community Demographic Profile, and our new component is the development of Healthy Community Indicators.
Healthy Community Checkup Report
This combined research will result in a Healthy Community Checkup Report that will be completed in late July, 2008 and will then be presented to the public.

2003-2004 Needs Assessment & Follow up Work
With the help of human service agencies and key community contacts, HHHS completed a Human Services Needs Assessment in 2003. This needs assessment survey and the information compiled from the new database on actual human services, provided the first comprehensive look at the human service needs on Bainbridge Island.
Even before the needs assessment was completed, HHHS realized that the assessment was only the beginning of our community’s commitment to ensuring access to needed human services. The Needs Assessment’s value went beyond identifying service gaps; it also laid the groundwork for devising strategies to address the identified needs. Between November 2003 and May 2004, over 70 volunteer community members and others were involved in the important work of moving from assessment to action.
